Dr. Janise McNair is an Associate Professor in the Department of Electrical & Computer Engineering at the University of Florida, where she leads the Wireless And Mobile Systems Laboratory. She earned her B.S. and M.S. in electrical engineering from the University of Texas at Austin in 1991 and 1993, respectively, and her Ph.D. in electrical and computer engineering from the Georgia Institute of Technology in 2000. Currently, she serves on the Editorial Board of the Ad Hoc Networks Journal and as workshop co-chair for IEEE INFOCOM 2010. She is also a participant in the 2008 DARPA Computer Science Study Group. Formerly, she served on the IEEE Transactions on Mobile Computing, as vice general chair of the IEEE TridentCom 2007 conference and as TPC co-chair of IFIP Networking 2007.   Her current research interests are next generation wireless networks, including small satellite networks, mesh networks, and cognitive networks, specifically addressing security, routing and medium access control.
